Subject Immigration-ESL Public Schools. As a parent with first hand experience, I would like to throw it out there that when we enrolled our children into an ESL "English as a Second Language" elementary school, we found out later that these schools "Dummy Down" these schools because teachers have to teach the "English language" to some of the children and the classes are taught at the same pace for reading, writing, arithmetic, etc, and no child is left behind. I reached out to the local Catholic school where they told me it may be too late to bring a child up to speed by 5th or 6th grade and they would probably have to retake a year. My mother was a war bride from WWII. She told me we couldn't learn her native language because it was a requirement to be able to speak the "English language" in order to attend public schools here in America. My question for thought is, "Are we going to Dummy down more of our public schools so immigrants can catch up academically and who will decide which ones?" Thank you for your time and attention and I do like watching Fox and Friends and Fox.
