Solid movie and reminds me of James Gunn delivering on the first Guardians of the Galaxy. A well balanced movie with heart and humor. I have read articles complaining about the humor, and though I can see what they are sharing, I don't agree it was a distraction. Corenswet fits the part and was not even a thought. My "gripe" are preferences when it comes to villains. I'm tired of Lex Luther and though he was playing the part of being evil, the lighter tone of the movie took away from his villainy, it didn't feel weighted for my preference. In contrast, Man of Steel, much darker toned, both in color and mood, had Zod stealing many scenes with his powerful dialog and convincing purpose. Here it was just Lex being power hungry and complaining as always. In contrast, Lois Lane in Man of Steel was absolutely annoying in just about every scene, here with James Gunn's rendition, I did not find her annoying at all. My last observation is the soundtrack. Man of Steel delivered a phenomenal soundtrack which captivated many scenes elevating them. Here, it's not that there wasn't a soundtrack, but not one that elevated the scenes, it merely filled the scenes as needed. I'll be looking forward to the progression of his DCU.
