An excellent film - very moving. There are superb performances from the two leads and the growing relationship between them is extremely touching. At the same time, the film explores the hardships of frontier life and the terrible racism and intolerance directed at African Americans and the indigenous Native Americans. But the core of the film is celebrating love, understanding, acceptance and appreciation of others. I highly recommend this beautiful film.
