Five stars for this movie which left me thinking about it for a long time, mostly about the character of Thomas. What I found interesting was when Donald is down in the cove fighting for his life and Thomas says to get the chest up before the tide comes in--seemingly not caring about Donald being drowned by the stranger. Thomas opens the chest and discovers the gold after telling the others not to open it. It is revealed that Donald let his wife die after his twin children died at birth, because he blamed her for their loss. Despite everything that follows, it is Thomas who sails away with the gold in the end. I am left wondering if Thomas is the evil that infects them all. Thomas, who seems loving and wise, who brings the evil down on them.

After being a dedicated viewer of Sunday Morning for a very long time I have recently decided not to watch it again. The set needs a serious re-design. Jane Pauley needs someone to dress her. Jim the "comic" guy isn't funny. The other two regular women interviewers are getting a bit too long in the tooth. I love the magazine format, etc. and, of course, the musical intro. Are the producers afraid that if they update things they will lose viewers?
