Really good book, interesting concept for a story. Quite unnecessary use of slurs and a weird way of writing about the way women look but I'm not surprised. The ending left me very very unsatisfied though. [SPOILERS] All that build up for a vague claim to what, insanity? Coming out of no where too. We never got to witness Garraty's relief at being able to rest his feet. Hugging Jan, being with his mom again, we never really get to see what he would have done with the prize either. Almost 400 pages written, could have written a bit more to give a proper ending that actually wraps everything up instead of something lazy.
