Horrible writing. The dialogue is fanfic class. Subpar acting. Ridiculous casting. Advertised as a Carrie Ann Moss series, and she was killed off 10 mins into the 1st chapter.. she was a Bait and Switch. The one remaining decent actor is the Korean guy the showrunner fetched to fill her diversity checkbox. And he can barely speak english. Subtitles required. The show is unwatchable for the main demographic. Lucasfilm thought they could toss away the dedicated fans in search of a feminized audience. Lets see how that turns out at the merch revenues.

Just sat with my kid to watch an episode. Half, actually. I agree with the IMDB score. And I see rotten tomatoes is broken. The audience is speaking, and they're sweeping it under the rug. Not a good formula. This show didn't go part woke, or half woke. It went full woke. You can't cram ideologies down peoples throats and not expect it all to be regurgitated in your face.

STOS allowed Roddenberry to squeeze-in subtle social-critiques every other 2-3 shows. But STD producers threw continuity out the window in favor of a every single episode, on-the-nose center stage fan-fic wokeness fest. I watched it for free, and constantly fast forwarded through it. The acting is OK but the story barely made sense and the direction is terrible. Abraham and Franck (The Expanse) blew STD off the water. Even Seth McFarlane (Orville) did it better. STD is Mystery Science Theater 3K material .
