Another magical student high school drama where students, especially female ones, explicitly identified as sixteen years old, are plainly in their twenties and act like it. EARNEST SUGGESTION: if you are just starting to watch Legacies, don't read the rest of this review. You'll enjoy it a lot more. There, you've been warned.
A good binge watch. It does have plenty of flaws: consistent over-acting, slightly excessive scene shifting, and a tad too many rides on the puppy love roller coaster. The plots are obvious enough that you miss very little by giving it only some of your attention, leaving you free to knit sweaters or polish silverware at the same time. The central and by far most engaging character, Hope, is played by the remarkably pretty Danielle Rose Russell. Don't expect to see her in a Season Two however. The series comes to a pointed conclusion with a noble act of self sacrifice that not only terminates Hope's life, but wipes the memory of her existence from the minds of everyone who ever knew her. Very saddening, really.
