K. Allen tells a wonderful, humorous at times, and very sad story, but so informative a read that his book educates a reader on this terrible disease of Dementia or Alzheimer's, that afflicts so many. He has given us insights on the daily activities with a loved one, who is either in the beginning stages, moving into a stage, or at the last stages of the debilitating disease, and how to cope for your peace of mind and theirs.
He outlines the love, comfort, care and patience needed to give the loved one some quality of life. He is aware that the decision to place any of your family in a long term environment is monumental and heartbreaking, but necessary when a family is unable to give them a safe environment. Under a professional with extraordinary skills of medical knowledge and compassion such as he shows in his book, it is outstanding and highly commendable.
A must read book for all of us, as we live in an era that has seen senior citizens live much longer than ever before. Our research and medical technology, though wonderful, has given us longevity, but for the patients having this disease as so vividly drawn by K Allen, it makes us pray for a cure sooner than later. Kudos to K .Allen.
Thank you for a wonderful book.
