Being a massive fantasy fan all my life. I've read so many books almost exclusively in that one genre. Absolutely loved the Lord of the Rings movies and Game of Thrones tv series. Out of all the books I have read, Wheel of Time series were very poor in my opinion. Robert Jordan (the author) paled in comparison with the likes of Raymond Feist, David Gemmell, David Eddings and the like, but I had to at least give it a try when they made a tv series. The acting is wooden, the characters are one dimensional and you feel nothing for them. The special effects, AKA magic is something I would expect to see in a low budget 80s tv adaption. I've seen 6 episodes so far and it does not improve at all.
