Great, great movie with a lot of old photos, video clips, quotes, and interviews. This was a back to roots movie after a great career of pop, R&B, and rock. Her childhood years drew her back to do classical ballads (like the crooners), opera (“Pirates of Penzant”) and near the end of her singing career her last album and concert tour was driven by her ancestral Mexican music. Family, parents, and homeland heritage and traditions never left her but made her great. Great documentary and video archive of a great star who never stopped being the child of parents who loved family, their heritage and music. Food, music, heirlooms, celebrations, traditions, and homes, and hometown memories fuels the discovery, gathering and connections to family, homelands, and life !! Go see it while it’s in the theaters.
