This show has very high standards. It's the kind you watch and want to tell everybody about. The kind you'll likely wonder why isn't mentioned as often as cliche favourites like Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones and The Wire. If you ever thought "nobody can hold a candle to Anthony Hopkins' Dr. Lecter" - you were wrong. We were all wrong! This show is visually stunning from props to costumes to set design and unpretentiously intelligent in its use of dialogue, narrative and character arcs. If you want a show that charms you into submission, rather than trying to forcefully hold your hand - this will whet an appetite you didn't realise you had.

When a creator (Mancini) makes this much effort to bring back original cast members, you've got to love the passion. The story certainly bears the necessary hallmarks and lore of a Child's Play experience. The first episode shows us plenty to entice a following and shows us enough of what we've come to expect from the franchise while keeping it fresh. Not all the characters are three-dimensional, but we should give it the benefit of the doubt and patiently wait to see how they get fleshed out - I see no rush. It's hard to fault the project, for how hard it's trying to bring back the nostalgia and my hope is it does amazingly well with ratings so other Networks learn a lesson about pleasing the fans with the original characters/cast in tow. It's refreshing to see they haven't shoehorned in an unnecessary change of gender or race to please those who couldn't care less about the show in question. So yes, Chucky, I want to play.

In one way or another, i've been deeply engaged with every aspect of gaming since the 80s - and this is definitely one of the best games I've ever played.

The dialogue and sound design are the best things about this movie. It's a one location Psychological Horror with plenty of mystery to get the imagination working and ultimately makes you want more. The acting and chemistry between Stephen McHattie and Lisa Houle is memorable. That's all you really need to know. Go in blind and you'll have a better chance of loving it.

The games we play should always follow rules. Simply playing to win isn't good enough if we can't discern between cheating and strategising. Mind games are especially deadly when we don't follow the set path but where's the fun in that. Maybe every players can derive pleasure by participating within a controlled environment; and just maybe, it's in that challenge that we can find the road to true enlightenment. The premise is simple - Two men wake up in a run-down room with no recollection of how they arrived there. In a game presented before them, they must work together to piece the puzzle that joins them in the hell they find themselves in. James Wan and Leaigh Whannel wrote an enticing screenplay with elements made up of real life fears the pair had as children. Over 18 gruelling days of make up FX and set design, Wan directed the film in its entirety. It was the previous years short based on a short scene from the bigger story that would convince studio execs to take a chance on the project and a small Aussie dream became a big Hollywood success. The rules of this game are made very clear. All the pieces are there and every move is carefully thought out. If we look at the size of the board it's easy to see why it works flawlessly in a one-room setting (or at least for the most part). You'll be surprised what a few simple twists and turns can do to reinvigorate your love for the horror genre and what a grander illusion can accomplish in the staging of a suspenseful mystery.

Like one of those nights you stay awake waiting for the next sound from the darkness, because the first noise planted a seed of in your head. And it sits there - the shadow outside your door. Because no matter how many times you flip your pillow and close your eyes, there's no rationale that keeps you from feeling like you know the truth; that you're not crazy - because there is somebody trying to get in.

As badly as any Child's Play fan might want this to be an interesting spin on the original film(s), it repeatably misses the mark and falls flat. There's little to no character or world building. If the lines the doll spouts are supposed to be catch-phrases they're instantly forgettable. All the actors have done fantastic work in the past on other projects; but not here. Forget this picture and watch a chucky movie instead.

An ode to 80s horror with a stylish flair for the fashion and hamminess that made scary films of that generation easy to watch and memorable in all the right ways. Fortunately, the hammed up moments are intentional and the deliberately slow pacing makes for one of the best payoffs in recent memory. Watching this again 10 years later raises all the same goosebumps and feelings of suspense that made this a thrill to experience the first time around.

Stop reading about it and just play it. The less you know the better the surprise. Beautiful graphics with an environment you can't help wanting to explore.

A beautifully emotional gateway into a horrific time in history. The amazing soundtrack and sound design seamlessly blend into each other and the game mechanics make for a simple way to interact with the world in a meaningful way. This made me want to study the Black Death in more detail once I had finished it; where more horrors awaited me.
