I didn't buy the escape bus story for one minute. I just stayed with the movie to see how far the writers would go with it. DeNiro should have retired after this one. He was the least believable character in the film.

I saw no racial undertones in this film. The couple happened to be black and the property own happened to be white, that's all. It was a good movie. Quaid was excellent in his role. The couple was very believable, with a typically trusting wife and a cautious husband. The suspense was a bit predictable, which took away from an otherwise enjoyable story. The cast was great but the writers weren't very creative in heightening the suspense.
