The acting is very believable and compelling, particularly by Lesley Mansfield, Sasha Baron Cohen and Kate Blanchette. The storyline is compelling too, I binged the first 4 episodes all at once. I could have done without the playacting sex scenes, it felt drawn out and didn't seem in keeping with the other performances.

If you’re looking to learn something new or fascinating about the homes and design in London luxury real estate, move on. This program is lacking in any authenticity or character in that regard. If you’re looking for a “housewives” style reality show, you might enjoy this. The fashion is fantastic and it’s fun to see the overall property shots. Little effort has been made, from what I can see, to understand the history and features of the homes, they are certainly not spoken about.
If you want to learn about interesting homes of the world, try Apple TV “Home”.

I’m listening to the audiobook, so it may be different. I assume the story turns around, but, I’m sorry, I just can’t listen to this b****# (character/ voice) speak for another moment. Made it to 24% through. The best to you in making it through without being completely annoyed by the whining and complaining.

I enjoyed this book, but wouldn’t have made it to the end if not for the narrator, Bernadette Dunne. Her dry, caustic character style was the perfect foil to the wild storytelling, making it somehow completely believable. I would go for the audiobook, but not the print version.

It’s historically an lesson for me (if accurate), the scenes are elaborately filmed and it is enjoyable to watch, but the British accents are wearing after a while, particularly that of Ben Cartwright who sounds of having a provenance more like of northern England than Russia. The formulaic f-words are only a reminder that we are watching a current times Netflix series.

Wow.
This book, when you stick with it, builds momentum the further you go along. The ending is worth the wait.
The descriptions of the character’s inner thoughts are so rich and thoughtfully told. I loved the author’s use of a broader vocabulary that I don’t see much of in contemporary fiction.
I would also highly recommend the audio version, the voices are perfect for the characters. In particular, BD Wong’s voice is emotive in all the right ways, making you feel the highs and lows of what love and loss feel like.
This story will stay in my mind for a long time.

Just finished part one and not sure I’m going to invest the time in part two.
The storyline is clear and well-conceived, but the protagonist is cliched, without nuance or depth as a feeling human being.

A fun romp in NYC but so quintessential Woody Allen that we can almost write the character plots, even down to the tics and pacing. Acting as good as they can pull off (great in their own right) but feels hamstrung by pre-ordained Allen characters. Some great lines.
Good thing I love Woody Allen, greatly needed a pandemic real movie night.
