I live on one of the islands featured in Alton Brown's third season of this series, Feasting on Waves, based in the Caribbean. It doesn't matter which one, as Brown treats each island and it's food/culture/people with equal disdain and rudeness.
This cringe-worthy series is only worth watching to see the beautiful islands of St Kitts, St Barth, Saba, St Martin, Anguilla, Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke and their rich cultures of food and people. His embarrassing comments to the local people of each island and comments about their food are a good lesson in how to be an ugly American and why this stereotype persists.
It's worth noting that the only place Brown seemed to enjoy was Jost Van Dyke, most likely because he got plastered on painkillers at The Soggy Dollar, which somehow allowed him to open his eyes and see the charm and beauty of Seddy (of Seddy's One Love restaurant) and his food. Too bad it was the last stop of Brown's 10-day voyage around the Leeward Islands.
Anthony Bourdain, he is not.
