Honestly, I think I can give this 5 stars. BUT, it's conditional... It MUST continue... Hiroyuki Sanada, one of my favorite actors, isn't getting any younger and he should probably pass the torch, unless a) they make another sequel sooner than later, or b) they don't give Hanzo any focus on the sequel [maybe introduce Takashi Takeda, Scorpion's pupil]... I think the movie moved at a good pace to intro/outro Bi Han right off the bat. Now we've experienced O.G. Subzero.. so we can get to triple O.G. Legit Subzero lol. Sonya Blade, I agree with my wife on this one: Waaaay better than Bridget Wilson's Sonya, but still not as gritty as the Sonya we get in-game. Kano's portrayal in the first movie felt more legit. He had the build for it, and his back-stabbiness, if that's a word, felt more intentional. The current Kano seems a bit like a weasel but holy hell is he a natural Kano! LIU KANG: MAAAAN DO NOT TOUCH THIS GUY! Leave him be! I'm sure he's got like 10 more MK movies in him! He did what Hanzo and Jax did, what I hoped everyone would do. He brought believability. SIMPLE. Shang Tsung: Dope... nuff said. Mileena: Super dope and an awesome believable rendition... but RIP😑 Reptile: The best reptilian version of him. If a lizard could eff you up like a ninja, without looking like a (humanoid) ninja, it would be this guy. Kabal: he wasn't horrible at all but, we could've watched the movie without him. He was still spit on tho. Reiko....(sigh).. not MY Reiko. I don't know WHAT that was... Prince Goro: pretty good cg Goro. Did just enough to not wear out his welcome. We should get Sheeva like that. Kung Lao... loved your finishing move. But I felt like I couldn't take you seriously... Lastly... Cole... I'm still processing.... Anyway I think this one has a chance to do what Fast and the Furious did, WITHOUT sucking the soul out of loyal fans. MK has sooo much substance, dare I say they can pull off a MCU style field trip lol. Now let's get that sequel.
