This is a good show if you've never read the books or can even set the books aside and just enjoy the show. However, as an avid reader and a huge fan of Cassandra Clare, I was sorely disappointed in the way this series went. To me it seemed like whoever wrote the screenplay read the readout on the back of the books and took all the knowledge that provided and wrote the screenplay. So many things that happened in this show never happened in the book series. And some of the better stuff in the books never made it into the show. They keep trying to make movies/shows off her books and it keeps letting the fans of her series down.
