I am so sad how popular this show is. People have no standards anymore. This show was garbage. The outfits were lame. The characters were completely butchered (when they didn't have to be). The whitewashing of Musa and Flora is terrible People just like anything that is an "adult" version of a kid's show even when that doesn't make it better. As a long time Winx Club fan, they didn't need to go in this direction. Now they are planning a live action remake. If it is anything like Fate Of Winx...I will pass on it.

Let me be very frank: the movie is a little jarring if you are a longtime fan of the show. The show already kind of has an origin story episode, so watching the movie is like watching a reboot or remake of a story that hasn't even finished yet. You really have to see this movie as it's own thing, removed from the show. The animation is fantastic, I'll give it that. I think that is the reason I gave it the amount of stars I gave it. In it's own right it is a decent movie. It just doesn't feel like Miraculous Ladybug. It's missing the humor and quirky parts of the show. Gabriel Agreste and Hawkmoth are the only characters that are recognizable in the movie. The other characters feel so far removed form the series that I have a hard time believing they are the characters I see in the show. If they didn't have the same name and look, I honestly wouldn't recognize them. And it sucked that we didn't get Cat Noir's iconic transformations nor Ladybug saying "Miraculous Ladybug" when Ladybug restored everything (which was a let down because that would have made the scene more impactful as a fan). Another aspect of the movie that weirded me out was the singing, particularly Marionette's in the English dub version. Her singing voice is absolutely nothing like her voice actor's voice. She's a great singer, but it didn't feel like Marionette was singing at all. Normally I can't tell the differences between singing and voice actor, but these two were so different it threw me off. Personally, the movie would have been better without the music. This was not the kind of movie that needed it. I think this movie will be enjoyable for first time watchers or for people who are not really a fan of the series. It might also be enjoyable to those fans who are too impatient for things to unfold in the series. But for those of us who greatly enjoys the show, it's meh.

It is a great show with a lot of heart. I enjoyed watching it even as an adult. It has something for everyone of all ages. Through Sydney's eyes you can see what it is like to be a modern kid, but then the show takes you back to the 90s showing what it was like to be Max. This actually gives you a unique spin on "looking to the past to learn for the future". The past is often relevant in very unexpected, unique, and interesting ways to the present. I'd recommend all families watch this one.

I think The Owl House is a great show. I like the witch aspect of it most of all. Eda is hilarious. I like the comic timing. The show reminds me of the old Toon Disney cartoons I grew up on. It is story focused and doesn't try to be something that it is not. I think it is the first kid's show to acknowledge bisexuality within canon. Many shows like to ignore it, even in adult shows "catered" to LGBT people, supposedly. They act like bisexuality doesn't exist only resort to "gay/straight" labels for their characters, even when it's obvious the character is bisexual. This show doesn't mind showing Luz blushing at both girls and boys.

To be frank, I haven't watched any new movies or shows because most of them today have no sense of art or creativity, even the ones based on book adaptations seem to miss the mark. This show however has so far given justice to the original book series in a refreshing way and is so timely with today's current climate. While there are some differences, for the most part it tackles the main issues of the story in a fresh new way. The characters have such good chemistry and portray them exactly as I envision them. I recommend all should watch! I have been watching every week and am now on Episode 4!

I pretty much enjoyed the series as far as characters, although I find that the series didn't often know which way it wanted to go at times, especially when it came to the relationships in the series. Some spoilers ahead: I didn't understand why the series would have Lizzie and Daring paired only to remove their romantic vibes and put Rosabella and Daring as a pair. Lizzie and Daring had way more chemistry and it actually brought out a different side to Lizzie that I was glad to see. Yet, all of that was for nothing because they ended up shifting Daring with Rosabella. It all feels like they were trying desperately to continue the plot without having to write in new male characters. I am also a big fan of Chase Redknight and Darling Charming (Chasling here!) but I feel as if they did not do anything with his character other than appear in Way Too Wonderland. Darling and Chase were so interesting to watch and his reaction when he found out she was the knight was so moving. I found the Apple and Darling pair to be forced? Ginger and Darling made a better pair (watch Spring UnFairest) and actually had chemistry (Ginger even showed a hint of attraction to Darling). Apple and Darling had no relationship whatsoever throughout the series and yet randomly Darling saves Apple with CPR/kiss. I don't know if the intent was heroic or some kind of weird act of true love (even though they never showed any interest in each other prior) but it just didn't draw me in. I'm pan so I'm happy to see queerness, but I also wanted to see something GOOD and well developed. I hate when shows try to force relationships for the sake of having the main characters paired off without actually flourishing the good relationships they actually have. But otherwise, I think the series is pretty decent. The romantic archs just need improvement. I recommend you don't get too invested in the romantic sides of the plot. It doesn't seem like they are consistent with it.
