My husband and I loved it! I was pregnant when we started watching it so we would fast forward the cruel parts,lol, Dexter is SO smart that even the audience can not anticipate his next move. At first you try to figure out what would he decide to do and why, and then , when you end up being wrong almost all the time, you just trust him and will realize later the reason of his actions or reactions to the incidents. And that is what makes it beautiful. You can not guess anything!
