The story I expected, no big reveals from Edward's perspective. His inner turmoil and monologues became painful to read every couple of paragraphs. I guess it's written for someone who may have started with this book as a first read rather than the original Twilight. We get it...he's the undead, soulless fiend of the night - and sickened by what he is!
I will allow that the description of James' attack on Bella was horrible to read/imagine. I could feel Edward's anguish at his sadistic nature, and his regret of not being the one to actually kill James.
I loved discovering the breadth of Jasper's immortal gift! I'd love to see this scene revisited from this perspective if there's ever a new film made from this novel.
I thought I couldn't dislike Rosalie anymore than I did in Twilight. I was wrong.
