Am so i just finished watching this film. It does follow a similar story to Patrick Dempsey’s Loverboy in 1989 just a pg 13 version of it. The 1989 version was more entertaining though.
When you watch a movie you get engulfed in the characters and you just let it all happen for you and watch how it plays out. Thats when you know that it was a really good movie. It didn't happen for me here. I didn't laugh, i didn't cry. It didn't affect me.
I wasn't drawn in to the characters. Brook, the main character was just bland. The lead female character, Celia, was filled with loop holes. I didn't relate to her at all at any point during the movie. I also didn’t see any chemistry between Brook and Celia.
The only part i liked is when the two girls dumped him. Didn’t follow traditional story line there.
If you’re watching it based on Noah Centineo’s acting from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Don’t. Watch it with an open mind.
Netflix tried something different but it didn’t work for me. I guess with tweaks it can be improved.
But make sure and check it out for yourselves so you could make your own decision.
