I want to like it.. I’m still watching it, but with growing resentment. I can’t accept how the main characters keep making terrible, selfish and stupid decisions. The parents repeatedly lose track of one or more children in dangerous situations because they are so distracted by the failure of their marriage. There are plenty of more specific examples to see. I get that these people are supposed to be traumatised.. but they keep doing things which make things worse. It’s then also hard to feel for them when they suffer or cause suffering to others as a consequence. The emotional/character focussed moments don’t feel real because they all have the same tone and glacial pacing. I hope the aliens win.
