A disorienting and poorly structured retrospective of the environmental history of Israel. Tal's "Pollution in a Promised Land" is a haphazard overview of environmentalism in the nascent state seemingly more interested in arguing in favour of ZIonism as a positive force rather than critically coalescing the environmental history of the region.
