Suburra is the joint best thing I've ever witnessed, along with Gommorah. The final series left me sobbing my eyes out, feeling suitably traumatised and i'll be thinking about it for weeks to come. What a journey over the years. Stunningly filmed, headed by some of the greatest actors ever - to come across so masterfully in a language the viewer does not understand is beyond talented. I'll be watching from the beginning again now, and I know for sure that it'll affect me in exactly the same way. A masterpiece 👏
A note about the film. The film is also brilliant, but bizarrely, even though its a sequel to the series, ends up being a contrasting standalone but with the same characters and a completely different story to the ending in series 3. Someone must've massively changed their mind about something along the way so it's 100% worth watching, but you just need to mentally prepare yourself into treating it as an alternative (even though it still doesn't make sense to because it just doesn't logically link to the series story!)
