The game world (Night City) is beautiful, massive, and fun to explore. If you are interested enough to read lore-books aka “shards” scattered throughout the game and pay attention to TV shows playing in the background, the world is actually very well detailed and feels like a dystopian satire of what the world could be if capitalism and corporate greed ran unchecked. The gameplay is also great - the ability to “hack” into enemy characters and items in the surrounding environment is a fun mechanic that feels original. This mechanic also makes the stealth system one of the best I’ve ever played.
I am a little disappointed in the story, both main and side quests. You aren’t given a lot of choices and it seems like hardly any of the choices make any impact on the rest of the game. There are also a lot of basic features missing in character customization and other areas that RPG players tend to expect.
Playing on Xbox 1 and yes, the game is very buggy at this time. Most of the bugs I have had a visual things getting stuck on the HUD and are cleared by reloading the last save. The game also crashes pretty frequently, once every few hours. This has been a nuisance but has not ruined the game for me. I’m still hooked!
