Wasted potential of a story with a theme that was cliche in biblical times. Dead characters aren't mentioned again, you play as a genuinely bad person that tells a few jokes for half the game, they pull the pregnant card 3 times because it's the easiest way to make you care for something, the best written characters were two teenage side characters you don't even see until the end of the middle of the game, and an ending that makes you feel like the butt of a bad joke.
SPOILERS: In the boss fight where you play as Abby against Ellie, I genuinely stood still. I let Ellie shoot me to death, expecting something other than a retry screen. I did not want to kill the protagonist. Speaking of which, no way Joel survived almost 25 years in the apocalypse just tell a group of strangers his name, knowing his past.
OVERALL: Gameplay was the same as the first game with some new features and mechanics, although it felt unresponsive sometimes. Amazing soundtrack and graphics. Those two are what makes this game a 3/5 and not a 2/5. On a scale of 100, I'd give it a 52%.
