Marry Poppins is one of my favorite classics. This film does an incredible disservice to the original. The songwriting is mostly dreadful and the storytelling lacks the mystique of the original. Not to mention the story arch was not compelling in the slightest. The only high points of the film are Angela Lansbury and Dick Van Dyke at the end.
