This film was... somewhat interesting.
Let's break it down like a professional:-
If I'm being lenient - The acting of Nawaz and Avneet was good. Nawaz being superior of course. The movie was okay to watch. Sometimes sufferable or boring. But it made me realise a lot of things people choose to ignore which actually exist in real life namely people getting caught in desperate situations to force them to be a pimp, drug dealer, prostitute, stealing, marrying to escape family, marrying for the opportunities/openness of a city/state/nation, beg for work, go into item dance gigs, etc.
Used to think these things can only happen to highly poor and incapable people (at least subconsciously) but now think it can happen to anyone with lesser money to spend than they have responsibilities.
It doesn't deserve 3 but I'll give it 2.5 (if being lenient)
If being harsh - Realisations and the acting part aside, the story is too irrational, unbelievable and idiotic. Plus why are there so many loopholes? 1. Sheru already paid back the 10 lakhs so why did the men come back to seize his house? 2. What happened to the baby and sanna after Tiku ran from Sheru's house from her family members? And how did they come back in the end? 3. Why did Sheru go to such lengths to please his wife that he went crazy! (Not a loophole just highly irrational and sudden change of train of thoughts for him at that time just because he held a baby on set) 4. Who sends their second daughter in the married house of their first daughter and it's played off like a joke and no conversation between the family and Sheru is shown in this regard(unbelievable and idiotic) 5. Why would Sheru say that he is making a room for Sanna in his new(non-existent) house? Did they ask him to adopt her/look after her completely for her life? 6. I could go on but i think it's suffice to say that the story was half-baked and good real professional script approvals weren't taken from experts before shooting.
Would give it 1.5(while being Harsh). Cannot give 1 since it's not possible to ignore the boldness of the movie in showing so much reality of the Mumbai film (and maybe political) industry.
So if I'm giving average ratings between harsh and lenient, then 2 out of 5 is the rating this movie deserves.
