After 4 minutes of episode one, I knew I’d found my next truly exceptional series to watch. The superlative writing, acting, costumes & locations, meticulous research lend themselves to a refreshing subject: a strong woman kicking ass, but suffering from the same, age old human foibles I can see in my contemporaries. Getting to know the indomitable spirit of Ann Lister against the rapidly changing industrial era lends itself to a rich & textured tapestry of plot & character development, feels like an adventure. Yay!!!
