We randomly picked this as something to watch while having dinner, so we had no expectations or pre-existing biases from other reviews. And we thought it rocked! Is it deeply thought provoking and intellectually stimulating ? Gawd, no! Was the script completely original in its plot ? Nope. Was the character development deep and complex? No again. But was it highly entertaining to watch ? Yes, absolutely! We immediately played the sequel and I really hope they make the third installment. Take this movie for what it is, an action packed adventure following rebel forces fighting against an evil empire (hmmm, that sounds familiar…) and you won’t be disappointed.

I didn’t understand Dune Part 1, and had to watch it twice and thoroughly google the backstory to fully appreciate it when it came out. The same goes for Dune Part 2. But you really don’t need to understand everything that is going on to appreciate the characters, the action scenes, and the overall plot of the story. There are so many scenes where the emotions and the music are enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. I don’t want to give anything away, but this is easily one of the best movies I have seen in a very, very long time. If you are hesitating to watch it, go, and thank me later!

Do yourself a favor, go buy a giant tub of popcorn and watch it on the big screen!

Predictable. Kitschy. But a surprisingly good show !

Jax Dagger’s earlier review is spot on. Utterly disappointing. I really wanted to love this movie. I could have understood a complete shift in style…if it made the story better. But this was shallow and kitschy, with too many meta jokes and played off the audience’s nostalgia of the original films. It even looked like a made for TV movie. This is the Matrix equivalent of James Cameron’s last Terminator: Dark Fate movie. Some stories are better left as they were.

I love Marvel. And Angelina Jolie. But this was the most boring of all Marvel movies and it pains me to say that. It felt like too much, too many characters, too much CGI, too many franchises to be spun… I hope the next Spider-man is better than this…
