I recommend seeing ‘Reminiscence’ – twice! The first time I saw it, I felt nothing. I had no emotional connection whatsoever with the main characters. I never FELT their attraction, love, fears, or despair despite a strong performance by Hugh Jackman. Still, the concept of the film was intriguing and I decided to give it a second chance. No longer bogged down by trying to muddle through a quagmire of settings, effects, characters, plots, and subplots, my concentration shifted fully to Nick and Mae, the central characters. This time, I was able to share their intense feelings and memories. A powerful, thought-provoking human story emerged – one that is worth seeing.
