Let me make something clear. I love Star Wars the clone wars, it’s my favorite thing about Star Wars. The first two episodes excited me greatly, for the first time in the history of Star Wars, we get to see what it was like right after Order 66 FOR THE CLONES. For me, the clones and watching them was my favorite part of the original show as a kid and as an adult. So seeing this aspect was great…
And then they introduced Omega. Another clone with a genetic mutation making her just a young female clone of Jango Fett. Now I wasn’t opposed to her being in the show and thought she was annoying at first however the newer few episodes came along and my thought turned into opinion. Every time she is on screen it feels like she is forced there. She’s always the solution or she’s in the way or she needs to be protected. In my opinion the best part of the show is that Crosshair separated and becomes a threat to the rest of Clone force 99. It adds a conflict and adds necessary drama that I feel would enhance the show if only it focused more on that rather than Omega.
My biggest issue with the show seems is just Omega, she doesn’t need to be there and they don’t actually use her until the very end of the season. I would love to see a season two and I would like them to use her properly.
I’m a fan of the show but it’s characters aren’t used properly and it definitely tries to play off the “Hey, you remember this character, right?” Or “Guess who this is, that’s right, it’s this character but younger!” I don’t mind these but I want to focus on the characters that the show is about.
