I'm here to give a review of just the movie as I have not seen the drama, and I must say, the movie is great. I don't find it helpful when people go into a movie with expectations because they unfairly judge it based on what they become accustomed to. You don't need the drama to understand the movie. The plot is there, they got connected through the game, appreciated each other as people since they're on the same campus and were aware of each other beforehand, and so they clicked when they met. It was very endearing to watch the parallel between game and reality. After they met in real life, the movie shifted to just them developing. He explained why he liked her, and you can understand it, and she had a crush on him (the person she saw, and the person he presented himself to be in the game) so a solid foundation was there. It was very heartfelt, you get watch the two of them have each other's backs virtually and in the real world. It was all very endearing. The graphics, CGI and acting was also great, and the kiss scene was epic. I'd recommend any day, and I dare say before the drama before your view becomes tainted
