An underrated addition to the Carrie series. Carrie (2013) picked up on what The Rage: Carrie 2 and Carrie (2002) had lacked: quality and impact. Both in terms of proper storytelling and special effects, while others may say its visuals were “over-the-top”, I say it was powerful and intense, which is fitting for the psychological and emotional depth of a tortured, tragic figure such as Carrie White. I prefer the original movie from ‘76 over all renditions of the story, but I believe 2013 did a genuinely well-executed modern rebirth of the classic horror film and deserves a lot more credibility from fellow fans of the franchise.
