Real Estate Agent

No spoilers except comparing it to other movies in the series: Super solid entry, very well crafted cinematography. My problem is that it mostly just seems like a rehash of every previous movie crammed into one. It's definitely worth seeing, but i wouldn't say that it's a must see. It's definitely beautiful on the big screen though. It seems like people that liked Prometheus aren't in love with this movie because there's not really much new or surprising in it. And those who didn't like Prometheus, love this movie because it goes "back to the roots" of the alien series. It's definitely fanboy material. Personally, i prefer new ideas and unexpected plots in each movie, so Prometheus was one of my favorites. But if you like a movie that feels familiar you'll love this. It's very similar to Alien Resurrection in plot and feeling, although with less funny moments. With a little Aliens thrown in, and a pinch of Prometheus. One of my favorite things was the gorgeous views of space and the planets which you really gotta see in a theater or like a 70"+ screen to fully appreciate. They also did a good job of giving a sense of the true effects of gravity and space flight in interesting ways, which was one of the coolest aspects of the movie. I'm glad i went, but i was a little disappointed that the movie didn't really have much new to add. But in many ways it tied up the loose ends of the other movies and sort of functions as a keystone movie that connects them together chronologically. And Ridley Scott may have been told to tone down the new concepts. Also he was probably a little worn out after the Prometheus series, so this was an opportunity to build back the fan base that wants familiarity, and also a somewhat necessary movie to tie everything together.

Awesome movie. If you liked fury road, you really need to see this on the big screen while you can. Almost non stop action, but a decent amount of character building and dialogue. I actually would have preferred slightly less action, and sometimes it just feels bloated with similar stuff to fury road. But there's plenty of new material to feel fresh. It has similarities to fury road but the story is completely different and it's great. Possibly a masterpiece. I feel like if they had dialed down the Hollywood bloat and done slightly nore character building it would be 5 stars in my mind. 4.5 stars but can't, so it gets 4.

It's very good. I haven't decided if I think it's a masterpiece. I didn't love the pacing, as i thought a couple scenes were too long and others too short. But I'm glad I saw it on the big screen. I didn't read enough of the books to know where it didn't follow the source material. But I don't think movies should follow them perfectly. A director is a creative artist, not a historian. I think movies would be boring if a director was only trying to recreate the book word for word. Semi Spoiler: I think the climax at the end was where they especially should have had some longer scenes. They just sort of crammed it in, like they ran out of time and just realized it. Anyhow, definitely a great movie. Maybe the directors cut is a tad longer and perfect. Time will tell.

Good movie, not a must see unless you're a super die hard history buff. I thought it went into reasonably good depth of drama and character building, although fell short of true greatness. As others said, tried to do too much to be a true masterpiece, but entertaining and good action scenes. People giving it one star must not like history movies. The acting is great, the movie is great. Not a masterpiece necessarily but it's a solid movie. If you like history movies you'll enjoy it. I thought Joaquin Phoenix was great, but the script just didn't go deep enough into the characters and their motivations to be a masterpiece. Still entertaining. For example, didn't really go into much depth about Napoleon or Josephine's life before meeting each other. Or why they felt the way they did. Like, they had intense feelings, but could have used more depth on why they had those feelings, what made them tick. If it had done that and a little less battle scenes, could have been really epic. But still a great movie.

Very good movie. Better than average marvel movie IMO. Kinda formulaic, but with more emotional depth than most. Special effects were great of course, and the themes were very cool. I wouldn't say it's a don't miss, but i thought there was a good blend of acting, action, comedy, etc. It's definitely not a bad movie, at least by Marvel standards. Slight spoiler: You've been warned.... The (slightly) pirates of the Caribbean theme was kinda cool.
