I found the movie eerily amusing since it had a 40s/50s film noir era vibe to it. With the duo - Bill Holden & Billy Wilder adding a 'Sunset Boulevard' flavour to the plot, it felt more like a homage to those good old days of Hollywood. For a movie made in the 70s it was suited for a much more mature audience.
