I watched the new Dune last night and I'll never get the 2 hours and 35 minutes back but I am glad I didn't pay for it in the theater especially since it's only half the story (part 1 and there's no guarantee they will make a part 2). I understand, it's hard to develop the story lines and characters and tell the story faithful to the book (you need to read the book). I recommend the Sci Fi channel mini series if you really want to enjoy Dune!
