First of all, this is probably my first dark fantasy book, since I have never really gotten around to reading dark fantasy. And truthfully, I was not expecting that I would give the rating that I gave; it was better than I expected. With this book I’m definitely going to look into other dark fantasy books. If you like dark fantasy, or like me, barely read that genre, I’d highly recommend this book. I remember saying “This book should be a movie.” This book NEEDS to be hyped, and I will be here for it. This book was a bit of a tougher book for me; it also brought me out of my comfort zone. There were topics and situations that for me were a bit intense. And that also made me absolutely hate people that did stuff like that, and I wish that nobody had to experience them. The beginning of the book immediately intrigued me. The beginning and first few chapters themselves got me intrigued by the book. It’s something I dream of at the beginning of books. I cannot say I had any clue of what the first few chapters were going to be or what was going to happen, but I definitely did not expect what I got. It went straight into the action, the kind of action that you cannot tear your eyes away from, and you do not want to. When I think of this book, I think of two characters immediately. One, a bad boy that is kind of a villain, but at the same time he is a caring person. And if he was real, he would be swarmed by girls lol. Then there is another guy, that is more the nice guy, and the type of person that is caring, and for me, determined. Overall, this book touched on things that I really enjoyed, which I extremely liked because it dabbled in more than one thing. In the future I’d definitely like to reread this book again. I gave this book 4.4/5. Eleanor, a chubby 16-year-old girl with curly red hair, and Park, a half-Korean, 16-year-old boy, meet on a school bus on Eleanor's first day at the school and gradually connect through comic books and mixtapes of '80s music, sparking a love story. I think Eleanor and I’d get along well if she was real. The book was good for me. I might do a reread in the future, but I do not think it is the best book you will ever find. I think it is a fun read though. And also just a little bit sad (for me at least) Throughout the book I kept saying “I wish I knew someone like Park!” I think the characters were well put together in the book. I liked that Eleanor and Park were two different characters, so that they would have different stories and life journeys. I thought parts of the book were a bit cliche and that annoyed me a bit. Like, I thought things were a bit repetitive sometimes. Which I usually do not look for in a book. Eleanor and Park seemed like they worried a lot about their relationship which bugged me a bit, but I also know that does happen in real life, just that I thought it could sometimes be a bit repetitive, especially since I was reading from their pov’s. When I was finished reading for the day, and half finished with the book, I started to think about Eleanor a bit more. And I thought it was a bit sad when Eleanor seemed to overthink and be insecure at times, and she assumed (not in a bad way) And she made me think that sometimes it is kind of sad when people are caught up with their own stuff, that they do not actually see the person right in front of them that is saying “Hey, I am here. I want to be here” Like Park was not bullied into talking to her, he wanted to. And when people are caught up in their overthinking and anxiety, they can forget that there is someone that wants to be there, that actually cares about them. I think that is kinda sad because it is a book, yes, but it happens all the time in real life. It also happens to me when I meet new people, because I can think “Oh, do they like me?” “Do they think I am annoying?” “Do I talk too much?” But yea, overall a nice book, I am pretty confident that I will stick with 4.4 for this book. It kinda sucks that I am ending on a bit of a sad note for my first review lol. But yeah, that is my review. I gave this book a 4.6/5 A British teen works on accepting her aro-ace identity. Eighteen-year-old White British Georgia is tired of feeling different. She loves the theoretical idea of romance and isn't opposed to reading a steamy fanfic now and then, but real-life romantic and sexual experiences make her feel squicky. This was an easy read for me, once I started reading I instantly liked the book. The book didn’t drag on for me or was boring. This book discusses a topic I do not usually talk, read, or think about frequently, so it was nice to read something different. At a certain point I could heavily relate to the main character (Georgia) which was also another reason why I liked the book. Another thing I’d like to mention is that I appreciate that the book mentions that partners (romance-wise) are sometimes not more important than friends, and that friends can be as important or even more important than a partner, because for people that are asexual aromantic, sometimes the most important people in their lives are their friends and family. So I thought it was nice that the book mentioned that partners do not automatically have to be more important than friends. I, myself amn’t someone that has many friends, in reality I just have one friend lol and I can sometimes get jealous of other people that have many friends, but I felt happy for Georgia (I know that she is just a character, but there are people like her too), that she had people that cared for her that were not partners. I noticed that at times I could be a bit annoyed with specific characters from their actions. I also think the book had a tiny sense of humor, and I was living for it lol. I am going to end it there. I gave this book a 4.7/5 Two powerful magicians, Prospero the Enchanter and the enigmatic Mr. A.H-, groom their young proteges, Celia Bowen and Marco Alisdair, to proxy their rivalry with the exhibits as a stage. Prospero teaches his daughter to hone her innate talents by holding ever larger and more complex magical workings in her mind. First off, I am just going to say I was not expecting anything that I read. I had heard many good things about The Night Circus, but I just was not expecting what I read, and nothing could have prepared me beforehand. When I was reading about Celia’s audition, I knew it was going to be a good book. Celia’s audition has to be one of my favorite scenes in the book and my favorite scene ever. I remember I could not stop smiling, especially when she changed her dress and her hair to a different color, like I loved it so much it is hard to explain in words lol Because half (or maybe even a bit more) of the time, I was just thinking “I so want to be Celia and have her powers..” Like I am obsessed with stuff like this, especially illusions and just magic, it is so magical to me lol. It makes me sad everytime I think about that kind of world, because I know it is just in a book. I wish I had powers, anything, mind-reading, flying, teleportation, you name it I love all of them. Bailey’s chapters were my favorite, mainly because I could see more of the circus and I loved that. In a sense, Bailey’s chapters seemed more adventurous to me, if that is the right word. Do not get me wrong, I also like the other chapters too. It is just that I felt there were more circus tents and learned about them in Bailey’s chapters. I got The Night Circus recommended when I finished the Caraval series. I can definitely see similar things, but the books overall are quite distinct. I have to say though, at times some of the scenes in the book confused me a bit. Also, I really like the relationship that Celia and Marco have. But I could not help wanting a bit of a competition, like I wanted something like Marco betraying Celia and then Celia being like “Bring it on.” and then the competition music starts playing lol like when there’s a book that has competitions or things related to people competing. I just like/love the book a bit more. So in this case, even though I do really like the book, I’d have chosen competitive moments rather than romance. That is mainly what I think about that book, and I will end with that. I gave this book a 4.5/5 The Godfather is a crime novel written by Mario Puzo, originally published in 1969 by G. P. Putnam's Sons. It details the story of a fictitious Sicilian Mafia family based in New York City and headed by Don Vito Corleone, who became synonymous with the Italian Mafia. I do not read that many crime books, so I was pleasantly surprised when I started liking the book. The first few pages of the book, about 160-200 were good but a tiny bit boring for me, but once I got past those pages it was hard to keep myself from putting the book down. One thing that I liked about the book was the action mixed with the *stories* of the characters. I liked how when something happened that threw the family off track, there were specific chapters or parts that explained what happened in more detail (because it also threw me off track lol) and in another person’s shoes. There were two specific characters that I will not name here because it might be a spoiler, that I wanted to see a bit more of, and I felt like their part in the book was cut off a bit. I really liked the characters in the book. At the beginning I got confused with 5 characters, mainly because there were more characters in this book than in the other books I have read. But each of the characters were so distinct that it was easy to recognize each of them. Overall, I think this was a really nice book. I do not regret reading it and I’d do it again.
