Madoka magica, a masterpiece and cult classic. If someone told you that you can have any wish you want in exchange for fighting your whole life, would you do it? Madoka magica tackles this dilemma of selfishness and selflessnes, utilitarianism and power. I watched the show 2 weeks ago when I was 12 ( now I am 13) and needless to say I was scarred. The show managed to open me to ideas and the karmic destiny of each action that you take. Sure the show is dark but tells us bad may win over good, but hope shall always conquers despair

As an avid reader of Daphne du Maurier and one who loves her critically acclaimed book Rebecca, I found that none of the movie adaptations bring the book to justice. In mostly every movie adaptation there seems to be something lacking, and I think the biggest reason is Pacing. All three of the adaptations i.e 2004 1940 and 2020 especially all flaw in pacing. Pacing is critical in a movie and truly builds atmosphere and tension. Alfred hitchcock is a master at pacing and it truly shines in his film Psycho. However I felt that he did not care for this film. I think what most of the adaptations miss is the subtleties of Rebecca and Mrs de winter in Monte carlo. Sure Monte carlo is a small part of the book but it is rather significant and i find that most movies miss this. There are however many things great about this film like its stunning score and performances, it certainly is the best adaptation but it still lacks. To this day I will wait for an adaptation that brings the masterpiece that is the book to justice

When you think of the mundane you think of boredom and slight happiness. This film makes you realise the love one should have for normality. I am very young ( just a year below 14 ) and i have yet to see the beauty Normality brings. This film shows you the interruption of day to day life and how it brings sadness but great things with it. If a film had to teach you about love, hope and appreciation, no film can do it better than this one. I have NEVER gicen a movie a 5 star. This is NOT my favourite film and has obvious flaws. However its an injustice not to give it 5 stars, simply cause of its creativity, beauty and message. This is the first film i give 5 stars but it wont be last.

I think KOTA factory has got to be one of the most refreshing shows I have watched in a fairly long time. The show truly manages to potray a mundane atmosphere with its monochromatic colour palette yet manages to make us enthralled in the small moments of life. The small moments that occur in the show with minimal soundtrack and how brilliantly the show utilises silence, most of the time the show slowly uses the background music of paper rustling or bickering in the background to potray the boredom of students. Although I make it sound as though the show is a love letter to KOTA, its rather the opposite, still managing to criticize the indian societal norms whilst making it subtle. The problems addressed in the show effect both our titular character and the relationship he has of the people around them instead of destroying our main character and having the story revolved around them instead of effect them itself even if its prominent. Unlike shows like Laakhon mein ekh which does the same thing but has the deconstruction of our main character and the emotional side effects that occur, the show does it the same but quiter, subtler. Both are great shows. I highly recommend both but I feel this show proves this in a highly realistic manner that could still happen today. Laakhon mein ekh is set in a family where the father is closed minded and not ready to accept more. Although this is common the show trashes the education system by using society as a guide. This show does it in the modern world where they trash norms not society. The main character is passionate so we understand its a problem with society not him. This show is overall great with unique use of sound visual and emotional impact. The show can lack personality though and performance from our main lead can fall a bit flat. Overall its a 4/5 from me.

The point of this film isn't to necessarily be entertaining. The point of this film is to be a representation. Most commonly of psychological trauma and mentally detrimental habits. Most of these review will tell you to watch it or not. But let's explain why this movie is/was such a big hit. Cinematography: 9/10 Although not the best ever in cinema. The movie does utilise the colour wheel rather well as a matter of fact, its incredibly aboabove average for the genre it specialises in. However, not every audience to cinema is a visual person but this film does these things well ; like using hues of grey and monotone colours to potray a sense of image dread and depression with occasional uses of warm colours to only provide a technical purpose. Soundtrack: 10/10 Definitely the strongest aspect of this movie. The use of traditional instrumentals combined with digital affects makes this film an incredibly dreary watch of horror. The choral ensemble that sings throughout the movie never fails to create an eerie aspect, specifically with western soundtracks correlating with the eve so confusing story line. Storyline: 10/15 *story is marked higher due to lots of aspects in hand. Like dialogue and story delivery and execution. A plot can be good but the execution horrible. The story is mutual to say the least. However, where it shines is in the execution Unlike a traditional construct, the story twists the construct to uncanny. There is no omnipotent narrator, just a weak tale of sympathy from the cast which is perfectly remembered by the title. The movie doesn't shy from heavy topics, and is heavily influenced with them. The aspect of spirituality in the story could be represented as many other ways of torment and poses significant questions about whether the character is mad or not or wrong or right. The movie is demonstrated in a choppy manner to provide confusion and enticement to the audience. However, it still is incredibly weak in aspects of story telling and an ability to keep the audience not just ambiguous but engaged. This is more commonly see in books as it's easier to demonstrate this than in movies, which is understandable. However this still takes away 5 marks from the 15 just because of how weak it was. Cast/acting: 5/5 Nothing more to say just a very solid cast with good diction and euncation. Overall: 34/40 Definitely a watch but not an outstanding piece of cinema. The conclusion and mood shifts are the weakest part of this movie. However it does a good job in establishing an atmosphere
