This album is a perfect mixture of lyrical depth and pop fun. I will forever give in to the urge to dance around my kitchen while listening to this masterpiece of an album. “Cornelia Street” is one of my favorites because it gives me nostalgia of a love I never experienced. “Death By A Thousand Cuts” proves Taylor is still a master at breakup lyrics, and “I Forgot That You Existed” throws the perfect amount of shade while staying sassy and classic. Taylor has made amazing albums before, but never one quite like Lover.

As a musical theater fan, I really appreciate this work of art. I have never been a huge fan of Cats, but I have always liked the powerful music and respected the cult-like following. After you get over the fact that they are cgi cats, you can enjoy the obvious passion and love put into the movie. It has that wonderful musical theater feeling, and I am glad that it stayed that way. Although not my favorite movie this year, I think critics are far too harsh on this one. The acting was enchanting, and I have to say Taylor Swift’s performance was the perfect amount of cat and musical theater I didn’t know I needed. Give Cats a break.
