One of the best series i've come across. The entire cast had done a brilliant job in putting this masterpiece together.
Directors Nitya Mehra and Zoya Akhtar did not leave any stone unturned with some beautiful shots and visualisation. Kudos to Gaurav Raina and Tarana Marwah for an amazing background score for then entire show. The musical score adds a touch of elegance that grooves naturally with the show.
The show tries to dismantle the facade of the big fat happy indian wedding that most of the Indian Society thrusts onto everyone and exposes the brutal reality behind it. The compromises and struggles, the moral dilemmas, deceit and greed that everyone involved in a wedding face, to just make one perfect moment form the central theme of the show. The show also sheds light on Indian Society's judgemental stance on LGBTQ rights and class differences that still plague every major decision in one's life.
The writers have done an amazing job in the character department. Feelings of love, friendship, envy, dignity, freedom, trust and the mistakes that arise out of unaddressed emotions, all of these that impact our everyday life, have been well integrated into character development of the entire cast.
Overall, a beautiful show that addresses a lot of the prevailing issues and opens up a discussion on them. I certainly would recommend this show to everyone.
