The movie had some obvious parts from the book but some parts were changed of course, but coming from someone who read the books it didn’t sit right, but of course this would be like a PG-13 or R rated if it actually went off the books. The animation was amazing and would be fun to watch with the family. There is some scenes where some people would call scary and could creep out children so stick to about the age you would allow someone to play a E10+ video game. If you had the choice to watch the movie or the books, watch the movie unless you are a bored teenager, then read the books, it is a great series no matter which one you look at first.
