I guess one could call this a Britcom. This is not laugh aloud as funny as Frank from Ireland or the IT crowd. Probably because it is not as broad as those shows. If you don't listen carefully many of Jason Sudekis' jokes will fly right by you. It is hardly an original story: a fish out of water tale and the original premise is straight out of the movie Major League (ex-wife tries to destroy a sports team and fails). Still the writing and acting are excellent. The show is surprisingly upbeat and positive. I consider this the flip side of another great show: Loudermilk. While Loudermilk brings out my inner misanthrope Ted Lasso brings out my inner optimist. However, Loudermilk shows there is more comedy gold to mine in negativity than positivity.
