I recommend watching the film. If you know from first minutes it's not your cup of tea, just switch it off as the movie is subjective and polarising plus long. But it is rich in palette, good acting, provocative. I do not normally like black comedy but here I lauged. I have found it intertaining. Time passed unnoticed. Gosh, I probably enjoyed reading the reviews more than that movie. People, try being succinct yourself!

The time suggested is 1960s cold war but the morals are futuresque if a decent young lady decides it's OK to make out with a creature. I can have a special relationship with my cat or a really big monkey but it would take partial lobotomy for me to consider undressing and getting intimate with them. I do seriously hope this is not our future though. For 1960s it would just do to save it, be kind to it and help it escape - that would be a good family movie. But this is disturbing

Pretencious, trying to convey fakes, ironically just like in the plot. Waste of time. I wish I could unsee it. Did they blackmail KR to make it? Hence all the bad acting.

Armie Hammer certainly sells it. He is great to watch in any rubbish story. Only watched it because of him. However, the movie shows American culture, teaching importance of pest control. It could make a good Rentokil advert. I have had experience with cockroaches. There are varieties that can make you act crazy, especially if you are slightly autistic.
