Good enough but it wanders away from its original intention- a mystery set on a riverboat. The second half takes place on land and although filled with action, where is the riverboat? And just what is the 'riverboat mystery' since the villains are actually after a type of super-charged oil found in some swamp land and that's obviously not going to be found on a riverboat. Watch it just for an action-packed film but if you love boats and especially riverboats, this will disappoint

Seen by most as the final major silent movie. Very well done & a touching story. David Crosby's (Byrds, c S N & Y) father won Academy Award for best cinematography (back then called 'photography') & Standells wrote 'Rari' about Anna Chevalier who appeared under the name 'Reri'. Anna tried life in Europe and was a sensation even marrying a man with a nobility title but it wasn't for her and she returned to South Pacific but surprisingly died at early age. Bogart's last film, 'Barefoot Contessa' is said to be based on Reri
