What was that? From a movie stand point it was bad. I didn't care for any characters because I didn’t know them. Because of that, the lack of stakes (or known stakes for the beginning of the movie), and the predictability of the mystery I was also not invested in the mystery/ overall plot at all. At times it was confusing (one of the first scenes was the dudes picking up something from space) which we don't find the context for till later but it was a scene that easily was forgotten and should have been changed with the fire at the station to allow the audience to more quickly have context for the shot (a scene soon after this shot explained something bad happened to the station, like a fire) and shows the risk instead of telling them later in the film. Others it was obvious. It also went on forever there was no dialogue till minute 6 or something, it took them too long to get to the final action (which wasn’t really action) and nothing really happens as we get there (except to not important characters which ends up getting solved not do to the important characters but just luck). I don’t think there was comedy but if there was me not knowing shows it wasn’t good comedy. Ultimately I only somewhat liked the film because I could laugh at the not so good special affects (ice in the north pole was just white block things and rockets go backwards in this film), the Russian accents, the obvious development, the weird music which was always tense, and the ultimate idea that people though this was better then 2001: Space Odyssey.
