started off awful. first 1-3 episodes were a little hard to get through. getting over the age and mentality of a crew tasked with a mission to seek out new life, and why they left a calling card on earth.
over all the rest of the show was well done. getting past the odd start the series had the continuing episodes seemed to fall into place better. by the end of the show I was looking forward to seeing more.
A-LOT of the online negative reviews here and other sites I truly believe to be based on the first few episodes or just the pilot, there is alot in the first few to not like about the show. but as it continues it does get better.
quite a few things that others have found odd in the show ( young crew, No uniforms, why everything seems to happen so fast - is mostly explained in the show)
what I liked. -
over all story.
Most of the characters.
sets and cgi where very well done.
What i didn't like -
The pace. the rushed pace made it that everything was happening quickly. which was not the case. its presumed that alot of time is and has passed from one scene to another.
some plot points. (i wont go into spoilers) but mainly subplots within the first 3 episodes. it made the characters come off as weak minded and irrational.
First contact. too rushed, too casual.
some of the science.
Some of the science, in this sci-fi was very hard to believe. mainly the rogue planet episode.
as we all need to take our sci-fi with a pinch of salt, the positives in this show outweigh the negatives.
I'd personally give it a 7+/10 with some hopefully fleshed out season two with more episodes where they don't need to rush past things so much.
