Firstly, I didn't play this game expecting to be disappointed after seeing the ratings. I was okay with Joels death, and when the relationship with Dina established itself I was comfortable with the story. . However, when I was forced to seek revenge on a character with which I know did wrong. It's just cruel play for the player, the incentives are all wrong. It's not how Ellie was portrayed in the first game. And Abby... well she not even comparable to Ellie, if thats what the game was going for? Why couldn't have Abby and Ellie talked and realised they were involved in a loop of revenge? They could have joined forces. And rather than being left with a lonely Ellie at the end. Why couldn't have Ellie and Abby teamed up to seek the fireflies together? This could have been the death of Ellie. I would have been way more emotionally attached to that. Especially as I began to dislike her during this game. It would have been appropriate. Anyway, I have admit, the popular is opinion seems to be correct.
