I adored everything about 'The Young Pope' and 'The New Pope' series (can't talk about one without the other) even though as an atheist and 70's feminist I wanted to dismiss them as trite and self-serving. Divinely acted, sublime visuals, provocative and thoughtful story lines. I even thought the selection of an American pope and his American brother and 'mother' perfect because of the idiomatic language, attitudes, and world view. This carried through in the selection of a British aristocrat 'New Pope'. Every single actor seems to inhabit their character perfectly - none was a weak link. And the ending to 'The New Pope' wow! I would happily sit downs with others for days to discuss and tease out all that these series brought to the fore. I can't rave about it enough.
