If you're thinking about getting Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, do yourself a favor and don't.
This game is Activision's attempt at a cash grab. This game was sold incomplete for full price. The developers don't care about the gameplay and don't take criticism about their own game for better improvements. For example, YouTuber Blame Truth made numerous videos discussing the faults with this game and Activision replied by completely blocking him. The player base has complained about obvious issues, yet Activision hasn't done anything to acknowledge the game issues because they already got what they want, money from sales. Right now the game is setup to attract new players, not to keep old or current players. Sad to say, but this game is the last COD I will buy if Activision continues to work like this. There are plenty of better FPS games out there besides Call Of Duty now.
This game prioritizes a player's skill over their connection, so players will be put into games against other players of similar skill regardless of if they will even have an even playing field when it comes to the connection. This should not be happening in FPS games because if another player sees you before you can see them all because of your connection differences, then you will be killed without being able to put up an even fight. This is only one of the problems with this game that the developers refuse to acknowledge or take criticism about.
This game's motto is the better a player you are, the more you'll be punished. If you want to have a fun, casual experience, you have to be a really bad player or abuse the system and purposefully lower your stats to play with less skillful players. Although this way of playing may not sound good, it's what Activision/Treyarch have intended it to be because they refuse to acknowledge this fault in the game.
This game is such a downgrade from all previous Call of Duty games. The fact that Activision and Treyarch don't listen to the players and intentionally avoid criticism to their game is all the proof you need that they simply don't care about the players who want to make their game a better experience. Players have tested this game and have found the flaws that are ruinning the gameplay, yet Activision will use any means possible to silence those individuals and keep themselves safe. If that's how Activision and Treyarch are treating their player base, do yourself a favor don't get the game. I've been playing Call of Duty games for 10 years now and I've never left a bad review for one game until this one.
