This movie visually stunning, but does not compare to the original. The run time is bloated because they want to show off their pretty graphics, and the plot suffers as a result. With better editing it would have been great- even with the couple of plot holes.

This was so bad I couldn't bear to watch the last 30 minutes. The dialog is trite, the fight scenes are awful, and the whole thing is formulaic. It is like Quinton Tarantino's little brother tried to remake Birds of Prey while eating cheese. The worst part about it, is that with a better script and director this would have been AMAZING. This movie has an all star cast for crying out loud! They WASTED Lena Heady's acting chops, Michelle Yeoh should be throwing punches, amd why in the world are they not having Karen Gillian flip around like she does in Jumanji?

The ethical issues with this movie aside, the best I can say about this movie is that it is something to do. It IS visually stunning, but it just doesn't have the magic of the original animated movie. They lost the sense of fun, the incredible music, and unlike many of the other live action remakes they completely butchered many of the moments that made the animated originals so magical. They hinted at those moments though, which just drew attention to how badly they screwed it up. For example, the word "disgrace" (instead of dishonor) featured prominently, and I just wanted so badly for someone to say "disgrace on your cow".
